Accessibility statement
This statement applies to enfieldeyeservice.com. Most of our patients have a sight problem, so this website was built for people who find reading hard, from the first line of code.
Prepared 7 November 2026.
What we have done
- Three text sizes, chosen with one tap at the top of every page, and a softer light setting for people who find a bright page uncomfortable.
- A Listen button that reads the page aloud.
- The whole site in nine languages, chosen from the Languages menu.
- Typefaces chosen for low vision: Atkinson Hyperlegible for reading and a clear serif for headings, with large text and generous spacing throughout.
- Colour contrast above the recommended level on every page, and nothing that relies on colour alone.
- Every control works by keyboard and with a screen reader, has a visible focus outline and is at least 44 pixels in size for people with shaky hands.
- No pop-ups, no carousels, nothing that moves on its own more than once, and no movement at all for people who have asked their device for less motion.
- Pages that work on any phone, without sideways scrolling, at every text size.
- Photographs described in words for people who cannot see them.
How accessible this website is
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. Every page was tested on 7 November 2026 with automated checks and by keyboard, on desktop and phone, at each text size, in normal and softer light, in all nine languages. We did not find any failures. The tests were carried out by the people who built the site, not by an independent auditor.
Things that may not work for everyone
- The Care Quality Commission rating badges in the footer are provided by the Care Quality Commission and are outside our control. Our rating is also linked in words next to them.
- The Listen button depends on the voices installed on your device. On some older phones it may not be available, or may not speak every language.
